Your calling

Anna was a little beautiful girl. She was respectful and never forgetting to greet her elders. People loved her for that and everything parent yearned to have her as a child.

 As years went by, Anna found herself doing so many things easily - she could solve mathematical equations easily, write articles,essays, poems, dance really well, sing without stress and even braid hair very well.

 " What should I focus on? Should I concentrate on writing articles or should I just focus on my hair dressing? Should I do everything or should I abandon everything?", those were the thoughts that ran through Anna's head as she was confused. 

Anna even met different people ( family and friends), but they couldn't give her what she wanted. She eventually prayed to God, her only help and became sure of what to focus on.

 Everyone is an Anna, not in real sense, but figuratively.. We tend to get confused over what to focus on and find ourselves doing numerous things.. All of us have diverse gifts and some of us still don't know why God created us. What he called is to do. Hebrews 11: 36 says," You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised."

 ..."Is it a crime to be an all-rounder?", some people may ask. It's actually not, but we aren't meant to leave what God created us for and do other things. So today, I urge you all to find out what your calling is and work towards it..

Garment of praise for heaviness

Something happened some days back - the results of an exam I wrote several months ago came out and I was short of words. My emotions were mixed -not happy, not sad, but something in between. What I got was totally different from what I expected - I expected grades extremely higher, but what I saw was ‘low’ in my eyes. Not necessarily low, but I wasn’t content with what I saw. When I did a rundown of all the grades, I had nothing to say than ‘thank you Jesus’. Some things that would have drastically tarnished my career  lifted me up. I saw ‘A’ in those courses. My joy knew no bounds because I remembered the battle I had with God to give me an ‘A’ or nothing else. I prayed earnestly especially for those courses and I had a pleasant and delightful surprise. My mood changed again. I mean, the devil was in action. He took my mind straight to the course I wasn’t happy with and all I could feel for approximately the next 30 minutes was sorrow.   Have you ever been in a situation where someone treats you like trash? I don’t mean a one time thing. I’m talking about a constant habit. This person has no regard for you, your emotions, your well-being and everything that has to do with you. To the person, it’s like you’re a nobody and your viewpoints have no worth. To be honest, it’s not surprising and it necessarily isn’t your fault that the person behaves the way he/she does. You try as much as possible to be a good person that you are, only to be treated like crap. You wonder why the person can’t reciprocate the kindness you show but your thoughts do not count because they can’t influence the person’s nature. Neglected and hurt, you wonder what can be done to change the way things are. Sometimes, you may even contemplate on dancing to the tunes of the person in question, but to be honest, that is not the best way to resolve things. What then do you do when you’re in this situation?
